Project
Monitor School Leadership Germany (SLM)
The aim of the project "Monitor School Leadership Germany" is to obtain insights into what makes the job of school leadership (un)attractive, what career motives school leaders have, whether they intend to change their job, and what role support services (for example, mentoring) and qualification measures (professionalization) play. For this purpose, the underlying data were collected in a representative questionnaire survey by the field service provider forsa GmbH in the fall of 2022. A total of 1,007 school principals at general education schools of all school types from all federal states were surveyed. Information on the survey instruments used, the methods and the project is available at www.schulleitungsmonitor.de. The project is financed by the Wübben Stiftung Bildung and is a cooperative project of the University of Education Northwestern Switzerland (Prof. Dr. Pierre Tulowitzki), Leuphana University Lüneburg (Prof. Dr. Marcus Pietsch), the University of Education Vorarlberg (Prof. Dr. Jana Groß Ophoff) and the University of Tübingen (Prof. Dr. Colin Cramer) and is to be continued on a longitudinal basis. Parallel studies are being conducted in Austria and Switzerland.
