Project

Meta-Reflexivity and professionalism (MR)

The project discusses the relevance of meta-eflexivity for the professionalism in the teaching profession. Meta-Reflexivity is based on the constitutive multi-perspectivity of teacher education that in turn is founded onthe diverse scientific disciplines and elements of the study program. Furthermore, the approach takes uncertaintyas an essential element of widespread theories of the teaching profession into account. Meta-Reflexivity is introduced as an element of professionalism that leads to exemplary interpretations of situations in school practice on the basis of a deep understanding of multipletheoretical and empirical approaches. While interpreting situations in classroom and school, one can but doesnot have to refer to these exemplary interpretations of situations. The degree of professionalism is assessed by the quality and not by the quantity of this recourse. Possible principles of a meta-reflexive teacher education are proposed.
